About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Architect to join our Defence Delivery line of business reporting to the Cyber Security Manager –Defence Delivery. We are flexible in terms of location and will accept applications from Adelaide – SA and Melbourne – VIC
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for ensuring appropriate cyber security controls are in place to meet ICT/ Cyber security compliance obligations and global security standards. The Cyber Security Architect works closely with the Cyber and Architecture teams in ensuring systems are designed and implemented in a secure manner appropriate to organisations risk posture. The Cyber Security Architect should have a good understanding of ICT systems and the latest security standards to ensure projects address cyber risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide security recommendations throughout the project life cycle and guide teams to align security standards, procedures and applicable controls based on risk and compliance requirements
- Provide technical security advice and design input in relation to Cloud, Web, Application, IT, IoT and Operational Technology systems
- Lead Threat Modelling and design risk assessment activities within the Defence Delivery environment
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Defence Delivery ICT security posture and be proactive in recommending changes and enhancements where required
- Work with the Cyber Security Manager – Defence Delivery to research and develop security architectures to drive future business strategy and align with security principles
- Work with Central Cyber Security Group team in Compliance activities for Classified and Unclassified Networks
- As a senior staff member, mentor team members and provide cyber security advice to other staff
About YOU
- Demonstrated relevant experience in the ICT security field with significant experience across Network, Infrastructure, Operating Systems and Applications
- Understanding of Information security manual (ISM) and other global Industry security standards(NIST, ISO, PCI DSS, …) relating to ICT Security
- Knowledge of Enterprise and Security Architecture frameworks (SABSA, TOGAF)
- Experience in providing guidance to project delivery by designing and developing secure solutions and implementing security principles
- Professional Security certifications is desirable such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or other similar credentials
- A Degree in ICT or Engineering related. Post-Graduation covering cyber security is well regarded
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
