About the Role
Are you a highly skilled Control System Engineer with leadership experience in remote operations? We are looking for a Lead Control System Engineer to head our 24/7 Operations Support Team, ensuring the reliability and optimization of critical automation systems across our operations—all from our state-of-the-art Remote Operations Centre (IROC) located in Perth CBD.
Reporting to the Perth Control Systems Superintendent, you will lead a team of control system specialists providing real-time support to operations across multiple sites. Your primary focus will be to minimize downtime by ensuring rapid fault identification, troubleshooting, and safe resolution. You will also drive continuous improvements and foster a collaborative team culture, mentoring new starters and encourage peer support to develop a highly skilled, resilient, and high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a 24/7 control systems support team, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring and rapid issue resolution to minimize supply chain delays.
- Engage with operations leadership teams, site-based teams and technical experts to enhance system reliability and prevent recurring issues.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing control systems enhancements to improve plant, equipment performance and reduce operational risks.
- Foster a culture of peer support and knowledge sharing, provide structured approach to training and capability development.
About You
- Strong leadership skills in an equivalent operational support role, with a focus on team development and stakeholder engagement.
- A leaders who thrives under pressure, who can stay calm and composed to deal with time critical operational issues on a regular basis.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Citect SCADA systems is essential.
- Experience in control systems within mining, heavy industry, or remote operations is highly desirable.
