An excellent opportunity has become available as Treasury Analyst to play an instrumental part in shaping Brisbane Airport Corporation’s Finance strategy for the foreseeable future!

As Treasury Analyst, you will be responsible for providing advice in relation to debt funding, financial risk management, rating agency and debt investor relations to support our diverse business groups at Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC).

Having the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships with lenders and rating agencies whilst ensuring compliance with accounting standards and BAC’s financial policies will be key aspects for success in this role.
In addition, you will be responsible for providing support with business planning and analysis as well as our Insurance function.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our Skygate Head Office and will report to the Head of Corporate Finance with a dotted line to our Corporate Finance & Analysis Manager.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include

  • Support the core day to day treasury functions (including short-term cash management, treasury and financial instrument accounting, debt draw downs and repayments, interest and swap payments and calculation of financial ratios) and within this, ensure compliance with the terms of applicable agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Forecast and track short term cash requirements, ensuring appropriate liquidity is maintained at all times in lines with Board Financial policies. Ensure Head of Corporate Finance and CFO are kept informed of any potential adverse liquidity events.
  • Conduct monthly hedge accounting and processing in relevant entities. Manage the relationship with the Company’s hedge accounting advisor. Manage any necessary engagement with BAC’s external auditors in relation to new accounting policies, complex treasury transactions etc.
  • Maintain financial treasury models for liquidity forecasts and metrics reporting, including regular quality assurance reviews.
  • Actively contribute to insurance broker relationship management in conjunction with Corporate Finance Management. Support the provision of insurance related advice to the business and assist with managing the insurance renewal process.

Experience and qualifications
Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Accounting, Banking or Commerce.
  • Experience in a similar role preferably with experience in large debt financing in both bank and bond domestic and international markets.
Preferred
  • Experience in a medium to large commercial business environment.
  • Experience developing and modifying Capital Structure and Treasury strategies.
  • Experience in the use of software within a risk management framework.
  • Undertaking advanced tertiary education (e.g. Masters degree, CPA, CFA).
