At CS Energy, we're dedicated to shaping the future of energy development while maintaining strong connections with the communities we serve. As a Community Engagement Advisor based at our Callide Power Station in Biloela, you'll play a vital role in developing and executing effective engagement strategies that enhance relationships and support for our company's operations and future projects.

CS Energy’s Community Engagement Advisor provides support to the Manager Government Relations and Social Performance.

Duties include the below, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain positive and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders, such as landowners, community groups and local governments.
  • Create and execute community and stakeholder engagement plans that build and maintain CS Energy’s brand and reputation in the communities in which the company has existing operations or plans for new energy developments.
  • Manage CS Energy’s social investment programs, including the administration and promotion of the various funds, facilitating the assessment of applications, organising CS Energy’s presence at sponsored events, and maximising branding and relationship-building opportunities for CS Energy.
  • Be a proactive member of the community, engaging early and often with relevant stakeholders and consistently sharing information that is timely and accurate.
  • Facilitate community consultation and assist in the negotiation of land access agreements.
  • Prepare and deliver communication materials, including newsletters, fact sheets, website content and letters.
  • Provide advice and support to site leadership teams to manage matters which impact on the local communities in which CS Energy operates.
  • Oversee CS Energy’s stakeholder engagement database, ensuring it is adopted for key projects and that there is ownership of the system at a site level.


As part of the broader Corporate Affairs team, the Community Engagement Advisor is also expected to have utility in the following areas:

  • The production of marketing and promotional collateral.
  • Internal communication projects and intranet or website updates as required.
  • Corporate communication services (for both internal and external stakeholders) such as social media, media relations, and issues and crisis management.

 To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in communication, public relations or relevant discipline (humanities or social sciences) desirable but not essential.
  • Proven experience in community and/or stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in developing and implementing external communication and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of community engagement principles, practices and tools.
  • Experience working in regional Australia and an understanding of regional communities and their needs.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a demonstrated ability to write for different audiences and mediums.
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with a proven ability to understand a wide range of topics, identify issues and provide appropriate communication and engagement solutions.
  • Ability to learn and understand the different aspects of the electricity industry and how they relate to the key drivers of success for CS Energy.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels, adapting communication and engagement style accordingly.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, balance priorities and meet tight timeframes.
  • Strong community connections and a good understanding of Central Queensland would be advantageous.
