THE OPPORTUNITY


Join CS Energy as a Compliance Manager and play a crucial part in shaping our compliance strategy and framework. You will collaborate closely with our Regulatory and Compliance Senior Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements across key risk areas.

This pivotal role involves promoting a culture of compliance, implementing monitoring processes, and interfacing with various business units to ensure understanding and escalation of compliance concerns. You will also engage with regulators and provide expert advice to senior management.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of the Regulatory and Compliance Plan for the ongoing advancement of regulatory and compliance maturity.
  • Supporting the Risk and Assurance functions to meet their objective and key priorities as identified in the Risk and Compliance Strategy.
  • Developing training, thought leadership, industry research insights, and identification of regulatory and compliance issues and trends.
  • Develop and implement measures, policies, procedures, and protocols to support effective compliance management.
  • Support the implementation and review of systems and technology that enable the compliance program.
  • Supporting strategic relationships and building capability across the Regulatory and Compliance team and the Records Management function.
  • Supporting the delivery of the SOCI Risk Management Plan updates including successful delivery of the Board attestations.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Compliance related accreditation (desirable).
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a compliance, regulatory or similar governance related role.
  • Energy industry experience is desirable.
  • Understanding of Corporations Act and Competition and Consumer Law.
  • Knowledge of the National Electricity Rules (desirable).
  • Knowledge of relevant regulators and associated legislation (Work Health Safety Queensland, Australian Energy Regulator, ACCC, Home Affairs).
  • Knowledge of Risk Management, Compliance, Assurance and Governance standards and best practice.
  • An ability to work accurately and reliably with detailed information.
  • An ability to communicate and cooperate with others.
  • Be decisive by using sound judgement to make decisions quickly on available information and take action; make commitments and not change decisions when challenged; evaluate short and long-term consequences when making decisions; deal with emergencies as necessary.
  • Communicate openly and effectively and ensure high quality information is exchanged between self and others.
  • Ability to modify priorities proactively and be sensitive to time constraints.
  • Flexible working hours as required to meet the business needs. Additional hours outside of normal working hours may be required, for example when working to reporting deadlines.
