Job Expectations

Build your career and Australia’s future

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A bit about your role

This is a senior people leadership role within the Privacy team reporting to the General Manager Privacy (nbn’s Privacy Officer). It has responsibility for implementing the enterprise-wide strategic plan and objectives for the privacy program, which is delivered via the privacy team this role manages.

The role works across the enterprise on current and emerging privacy issues. It involves exploring the problem space to identify the main cause and then establishing the relationships between the internal business units, ensuring program alignment, and handling exemptions/escalations. You will make sure that these components are delivered on time, including privacy program consistency and alignment, critical path analysis and management of changes to these work packages to ensure robust and efficient improvement to nbn’s three lines of defence strategy.

A bit about you

If this role sounds like a good match for you, it’s likely that you hold relevant privacy experience working within a large complex organisation and demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of domestic and international privacy law and policy. Ideally, you’ll have a background in compliance, legal or risk management disciplines.

You are experienced in privacy program management with a strong focus on delivering results and balancing risk and compliance decisions. You are pragmatic in your approach, an enterprise thinker and are logical and rational in your assessment of a challenge and the potential solutions.

You are an exceptional people leader and love leading a team. You’re known for your great stakeholder engagement and how you influence and collaborate across the company. You have excellent communication skills and can engage across the most senior levels to facilitate excellent privacy risk management outcomes.
