Pacific National (PN) is the largest private provider of diversified rail freight services in Australia. We haul a variety of freight including coal, intermodal containers, steel, and a range of bulk commodities and materials that keep the region’s economy, businesses and households running.
About the role
Work with a team of specialist engineers account able for the commission and maintenance of systems that improve safety, efficiency and safety of our diversified freight crew.
Define processes create execution plans and be the technical lead for OT projects beyond the communications domain.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with business users - analysts, solution architects etc
- Specify, commission, maintain and oversee the implementation of standardised OT solutions that meet business needs and align with the strategy
- Define or manage operational concepts including operational scenarios and user requirements
- Lead the evaluation and deployment of future OT solutions ensuring the organisation is prepared for rapid technology advances in the rail
- Drive culture of continuous improvement in improve quality, efficiency, and standards across OT team
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in operational systems design and implementation or a similar capacity (hardware/software
- Good knowledge and understanding of relevant Standards (CENELEC, RISSB, AREMA, IEEE, MIL-STD, AS etc.)
- Good analytical skills and critical attention to specification details
- Excellent soft skills including communication, interpersonal, presentation, leadership and report writing proficiency with a strong desire and ability to collaborate in problem solving in an integrated team environment
- Customer focused and goal orientated with keen attention to detail
