We are seeking an Environment Manager to lead the charge!
About the role
Reporting to the Head of ESG, the Environment Manager will support Pacific National to reduce our environmental impact, focusing on improving resource utilisation and thereby helping the business to understand and manage environmental risk, manage compliance obligations and support the execution of our ESG strategy and initiatives to meet agreed environmental goals and targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide input to the establishment of environmental goals and targets and the development of the HSE strategic program and initiatives including annual environmental assurance program
- Identify, prioritise and implement program of work to deliver against environmental targets
- Lead a small team and build team capability to enable support delivery of strategic objectives
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the business complies with all environmental regulatory requirements and environmental management plans and advise the business on industry best practice in environmental risk management
- Identify and manage environmental and associated community impact risks including actively participating in assurance activity, investigations and risk reviews in accordance with the safety and environmental management system.
- Develop, implement and maintain communication strategy, geared towards driving cultural change in environmental management with the business
- Establish and maintain processes to monitor, report and review environmental performance
- Identify and develop corrective action and improvement programs
About you
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be an experienced Environment leader with a proven track record of planning, executing and delivering on environment outcomes.
We are looking for the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Track record of driving improved environmental performance, with experience building and implementing enterprise-wide strategies, management systems and support tools
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, engineering or equivalent
- In depth knowledge of environmental regulatory and legislative requirements in large, complex organisations within heavy, regulated industry sectors.
- Track record of influencing and engaging key internal and external stakeholders including proven experience effectively leading cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding results and drive change
- Environmental auditing and/or investigation experience
- Contaminated land experience including managing and engaging consultancy services would be advantageous.
