Climate and Sustainability Project Manager

We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.
About the role
TasNetworks is seeking a proactive and experienced project manager professional to support our compliance with Climate-related Financial Disclosures (CRFD) requirements. This role is critical in driving climate risk reporting and embedding sustainability across the business.
In this role, you will:
- Work with key stakeholders from across TasNetworks to ensure timely compliance with CRFD requirements
- Develop a sound working knowledge of CRFD requirements and what’s needed for compliance.
- Coordinate resources and lead project delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines.
- Review how other DNSPs, TNSPs, and Tasmanian GBEs are approaching CRFD compliance.
- Develop and manage project documentation (plans, budgets, schedules, risk registers, etc.).
- Build stakeholder understanding and support through clear, engaging communication.
- Provide advice and support to accountable Functional Areas.
- Monitor progress, report to the Sustainability Committee, and escalate issues as required.
- Chair the CRFD Working Group and foster cross-functional collaboration.
- Support related sustainability initiatives across the business as required.
About you
What you’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management, ideally within Climate and/or Sustainability areas
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Management or related field.
- Project Management certification (e.g., Prince2, Diploma of Project Management).
- Current knowledge of relevant legislation and reporting requirements.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Collaborative, relationship-focused approach with solid business acumen – a true team player.
- Proficiency in relevant software and project tools.
