We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

About the role

Are you looking to be part of a team that drives economic development and growth whilst developing strategic commercial initiatives? Our inclusive Commercial team is seeking a dynamic and talented individual for the position of Strategic Growth Specialist.

As a Strategic Growth Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Tasmania’s electricity network. You will support the Government’s energy policy while pursuing TasNetworks’ strategic objectives related to network augmentation, growth, and new connections. You will build and maintain strong professional relationships and lead stakeholder engagement to promote our role in sustainable network expansion with customers, stakeholders, market participants, regulators, and the community.

The role will provide expert commercial and risk advisory services on market dynamics, market participants, and emerging opportunities and coordinate responses to requests for expert advice on the network and the National Electricity Market (NEM).

About you

If you are self-directed with a 'can do' attitude and an interest in driving growth strategies, we would love to hear from you.

You will have strong commercial acumen with 5+ years experience in a professional role (ideally within renewable energy) and/or relevant tertiary qualifications of a technical nature.

You will excel in working within a political environment, ideally with experience in energy infrastructure development and financing and procurement.

You will offer excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail with the ability to work collaboratively in cross functional teams.

Ideally you will have contract or project management experience, with the ability to work effectively under pressure with complex competing priorities.
