What you'll contribute to

An exciting opportunity has become available for a suitable Quality Engineer to join the Quality & Service Division. The Quality & Service Division is responsible for planning, coordination and execution of all customers first activities including customer support, warranty, training, service value chain, in-field product performance, customer quality engineering and Dealer operations kaizen in order to retain customers for life through optimised services and products, grow the market, contribute to profitability objectives and strengthen the Toyota brand.

How you'll make an impact

  • Implement agreed quality processes and procedures consistent with set policies in order to achieve product quality and reliability objectives.
  • Test and confirm product designs in line with Toyota quality standards and evaluation methods to ensure quality approval of Toyota parts and accessories prior to the start of mass production.
  • Ability to investigate and resolve quality issues relating to parts and accessories.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding all quality control specifications, documentation, and technical enquiries.
  • Support suppliers and other stakeholders regarding the development of quality products and conversions.
  • Monitor and analyse performance against targets for own area and recommends countermeasures where required.
  • Support communication forums including supplier status meetings and design reviews to achieve desired outcomes through strong supplier relationships and teamwork.
  • Assist in the development of processes and procedures for quality approval of parts and accessories to maximise product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction for Toyota products.
  • Maintain reporting systems in order to provide the business with accurate and timely information to support planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor own tasks with respect to compliance with technical standards, relevant regulations, and statutory requirements in order to minimise Toyota's risk exposure and liabilities.

Your attributes - If you've got one or more, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Degree qualification in engineering (Electrical engineering desirable however Mechanical Engineering will be considered) or equivalent (as recognised by the Australian Institute of Engineers)
  • 4+ years' experience minimum and high preference in the automotive industry
  • Experience in quality control systems
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to communicate at a high standard and be confident with presenting.
  • Must be Registered in Victoria's Business Licencing Authority (BLA) as a registered Engineer.
