What you'll contribute to

We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Specialist - Corporate, to oversee the creation and execution of corporate procurement strategies. This role involves competitive sourcing through effective contract management and supplier negotiations to ensure the best supplier selection, management, and mix, with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality, cost-efficiency, sustainability, and compliance.

This role is part of our Finance and Procurement division, responsible for delivering corporate support for all finance and procurement activities, helping Toyota to implement its strategy and achieve its goals.

This is a Max Term role until May 2026, located at Altona North with flexible working arrangements.

How you'll make an impact
  • Assessment & selection of suppliers: Coordinate the evaluation and selection of suppliers according to established commodity strategies through formal tender processes, aiming to secure contracts that ensure timely delivery of goods or services at the desired quality and optimal cost.
  • Supplier management: Enhance corporate profitability by managing suppliers to ensure they maintain and improve performance levels. This includes proactively identifying and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
  • Procurement strategies: Support the development and implementation of corporate procurement commodity strategies in line with established policies to meet supplier selection objectives, focusing on customer centricity, quality, cost, sustainability, and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement (Kaizen)- Processes and procedures: Helps develop, continuously improve, and standardize processes and procedures for corporate procurement to optimize the entire procurement process.
  • Relationship building and project management: Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to address queries and issues, ensuring that key operational activities are aligned and effectively communicated. Support key projects in alignment with corporate procurement strategies to ensure a steady supply and achieve project milestones that support the broader objectives of TMCA.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain reporting systems to deliver accurate and timely information that supports planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities within the business.

  • Demonstrated knowledge understanding of market approaches, tendering processes, and quotations for procuring goods and services.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain cooperative professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in supporting the entire process from tendering, requests for quotation, and expressions of interest to selective tendering and contract award, including the preparation of procurement reports.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to research the market, analyze information, and present insights in a clear and understandable manner for individuals without a procurement background.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers, along with well-developed logical, analytical, and quantitative skills - proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
