Head of Workplace Culture & Resilience

About the role

As the Head of Workplace Culture & Resilience at V/Line, you will lead transformative initiatives to enhance our workplace culture, with a strong emphasis on mental health, well-being and supportive practices.



Key Accountabilities include:

  • Workplace Culture Development: Lead initiatives to enhance workplace culture using feedback from engagement surveys, promoting V/Line's values and fostering an environment where positive workplace behaviour thrives.
  • Employee Engagement and Cultural Advancement: Oversee the employee engagement survey process (People Matter survey), analyse results and trends to drive cultural initiatives, and implement strategies aimed at improving workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Mental Health Strategy: Oversee the development and implementation of programs designed to foster positive behaviour, create a psychologically safe environment and promote well-being throughout the organisation. Develop comprehensive mental health policies and frameworks for prevention, intervention and ongoing support, ensuring adequate training and reporting mechanisms are in place.
  • Supportive Systems and Resilience: Design and promote proactive support mechanisms for employees facing challenges, including trauma-informed care programs and frameworks for responding to workplace trauma, equipping employees with resources to cope with stressors. Empower leaders with resources and clear protocols to effectively assist their teams.



About you

You are an exceptional leader with strong strategic planning skills. You thrive in dynamic environments and have a proactive approach to fostering a resilient workplace.



Our ideal candidate will:

  • Drive initiatives to enhance workplace culture using feedback from engagement surveys.
  • Champion V/Line's values and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive mental health policies and frameworks, ensuring training and support for positive behaviour.
  • Create guidelines and training for expected workplace behaviour and facilitate 360-degree feedback processes for leaders.
  • Develop crisis management and trauma-informed care programs, ensuring support systems for employees.
  • Lead initiatives to improve workplace culture and employee engagement, working with the People, Safety, Sustainability and Risk Group (PSSR) and other departments to implement well-being programs.
  • Have previous experience in workplace culture transformation, mental health policy development and expertise in managing large-scale employee engagement or wellness programs.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Organisational Development or related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
