Global Network Services is the division of Global Merchant & Network Services within American Express responsible for exponentially growing the cards and payments business of American Express through partnerships with premier banks, financial institutions and co-brand partners worldwide. We own relationships with over 140 Bank Partners across the globe to deliver card acceptance and issuance.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Manager, Business Governance, plays a critical role in supporting the GNS organization and internal partners by contributing to overall business governance, operational excellence and regulatory change management. The Manager is an integral part of the GNS Executive Office and will report to the Chief of Staff (Vice President Assistant) to the President of GNS, Mohammed Badi. They will have the opportunity to work across teams within GNS and drive several responsibilities across the organization.

This role is ideal for someone with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously, while establishing collaborative partnerships across the GNS organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Working closely with Compliance, Operational Excellence, Tech business partners to coordinate and thought partner across a wide range of business issues
  • Standard Operating Procedures maintenance and ongoing oversight for Global Network Services
  • PRSA Quarterly Testing and Refresh
  • Ongoing Oversight of team processes related to team Auditing
  • Regulatory Change management oversight
  • Operational Risk Event support and oversight
  • TLM and Alternate Practice management and oversight
  • Access Management
  • Ongoing reporting requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • Solid experience in a governance, operational excellence, compliance or business governance related function.
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide operational thought leadership and lead projects with limited guidance.
  • Capable of high levels of output while balancing multiple priorities, with an optimistic ‘Growth Mindset’ attitude.
  • The individual must be culturally-aware with a Global mindset to partner and work across all international markets.
  • Demonstrate superior relationship management skills with proven ability to influence without authority across a matrix organization.
  • Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior organization, time management and planning skills are essential.
