Senior Manager – Business Enablement
This newly created London based position will play a critical role to own and manage Business Enablement activities across our UK Merchant Business and American Express Payment Services Limited operations.
This role is part of a high profile, dynamic and business critical team focused on ensuring that Global Merchant Services (GMS) UK creates and maintains strong levels of compliance and continues to adapt to an evolving regulatory landscape, which is critical to the ongoing success of the UK business.
The successful candidate will report to the Director, Business Enablement and will work across GMS business teams and key partner teams (Marketing, Pricing, Legal, Global Services Group Compliance & Control Management) leading a range of business enablement initiatives.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The below responsibilities will be split across 3 managers in the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver strong project management on key initiatives to support the performance of the wider team including Know your Customer, Consumer Duty, Internal Audit, Operational Risk Events, Business Conduct and Operational Resilience
- Own & establish dashboards and reporting for regulatory and compliance initiatives across Global Merchant Services (GMS)
- Build and maintain strong relationships across a range of stakeholder teams including Marketing, Client Management, Partner Management, Acquisition, Marketing, Pricing & Legal
- Working in Partnership with key stakeholders such as Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Financial Crimes teams and partner teams to build out and operationalise robust regulatory processes
- Translate complex processes and information into simple & articulate messages for multiple audiences
- Lead creation of AEPSL (American Express Payment Services Limited) Board regulatory reports (eg. ESG, TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures), Consumer Duty) working to mandated deadlines
- Own, support or manage other GMS UK / AEPSL Business Enablement / Regulatory Change Management Programs as required
- Become subject matter expert and champion the regulatory & control agenda across GMS UK
- Drive collaboration across the enterprise (International Card Services/Global Corporate Services) on compliance and regulatory activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of UK Payment Regulatory Environment
- Strong project management experience with ability to influence and drive change
- Ability to develop detailed project and execution plans
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Proven ability to understand complex end to end processes including technology, servicing and customer impacts.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into clear messaging for stakeholders
- Track record of dealing with multiple competing priorities and working well under pressure to balance competing priorities successfully.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident presenting to senior management & creating compelling messaging to drive change
- Strong relationship management skills across stakeholders of all levels
- Flexibility to quickly adapt to a dynamic and changing environment. Ability to re-focus according to business wide strategic priorities.
