Introduction to Role:

Are you ready to define and implement the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) learning and capability plan and strategy to ensure we have the skills and mindset needed for future success. You will also lead the training team to effectively support and guide all functions to evolve and learn; Creating and monitoring impact measures for OBU training and Oncology specific capability programs.

Accountabilities:

You will be accountable for allocating training team time and resources to ensure launch readiness and Oncology brand excellence across all franchises. You will be responsible for the delivery of operational projects and innovation initiatives aimed at strengthening core Oncology business skills. You will also be responsible for the performance and line management of the Oncology Learning and Capability Development (L&CD) team. Your role will involve working with cross-functional leaders to identify current and emerging skills and knowledge gaps required for the success of AstraZeneca’s future Oncology portfolio. You will also Partner with subject matter experts to develop and refresh access learning modules and deliverables; Act as point of contact with cross-functional learning and development partners; Create a cohesive and proactive Oncology Learning and Capability Development and be an active and proactive member of the Business Innovation Leadership Team

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Marketing or Business
  • Understanding of general business and Oncology business principles and application to future healthcare market challenges
  • Broad pharmaceutical/healthcare and digital experience
  • Strong strategic thinking, judgement and influencing skills
  • Proven commercial track record: focus, resource deployment
  • Evidence of Analysis and Communication of complex messages to senior stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills, dynamic, committed, innovative and driver of change
  • Autonomous, independent and self-starter
  • Able to interact with experts and willing to spend time in the field

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • MBA or higher certificate in learning and development
  • Cross TA knowledge
  • Oncology Experience
  • Capability Building experience
  • Broader experience gained working in different functions
  • Learning or Training experience
  • Exposure to decision-making bodies
  • Line management
