But we’re more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. At AstraZeneca, we are pioneering new frontiers by identifying and treating patients earlier, working towards the aim of eliminating cancer as a cause of death.
Come and join our AZ team where you will play a pivotal role in this exciting period of development.
We are seeking a Scientist to join the Translational Pathology group in the Oncology R&D Translational Medicine department, where you will be at the forefront of the evolution of translational science for the global oncology group at AstraZeneca! At AstraZeneca, we work together across global boundaries to make an impact and find answers to challenges. We do this with the utmost integrity even in the most difficult situations because we are committed to doing the right thing. We continuously forge partnerships that help pursue world-class medicines in new ways, combining our people’s exceptional skills with those of people from all over the globe!

Additionally, your work will help define novel mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies by studying tumors at relapse.

Experience working with human tissues and tissue-based histopathology methods
Knowledge or experience in one or more AZ portfolio areas: tumour drivers and resistance, DNA damage response (DDR), immuno-oncology (IO) and antibody drug conjugates (ADC)
Experience of tracking and/or managing human tissues using sample tracking softwares (e.g. BSI, SAPIO, Azenta etc,).
Desirables:
Skilled in development and validation of biomarker assays
Experience with digital image analysis solutions (e.g. ImageJ, HALO, Visiopharm etc)
Skills in developing multiplexed immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization (ISH) assays
Career exposure to the pharmaceutical industry and the drug development process
In Office Requirement:
When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That's why we work, on average, a minimum of five days per week from the office. But that doesn't mean we're not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual flexibility. Join us in our unique and ambitious world.
Embrace new and varied opportunities to develop and learn. Here we get to develop and grow, whether that's working at the leading edge or on varied stages and molecules. Working on things that have never been done before. In return, when great science comes alive, we have the opportunity to get published.
