Construction Design and Management (CDM) Subject Matter Expert
AWE is currently recruiting for a Client facing Construction Design and Management (CDM) Subject Matter Expert, who will be responsible for supporting the management, oversight and coordination of the Construction, Design, and Management Regulations within the AWE estate.
The role will involve supporting a diverse range of projects inclusive of a significant 'UK leading' multi-million-pound forward build programme of new facilities and associated infrastructure.

Package - Up to £60,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Within this position your responsibilities will be inclusive of:
Advice, support, and improvements.
Provide technical advice, in support of the implementation of the AWE CDM arrangements and duty holders (Client, PC and PD etc).
Promote CDM learning and improvement.
Policy setting and strategy.
Monitor and assess the implications of existing, new, and forthcoming legislation, standards, and guidance, relevant to CDM.
Support the creation and maintenance of standards, procedures, and other arrangements relevant to CDM.
Policy implementation
Confirm that resources (people, equipment, environment, or material) required to deliver CDM within AWE.
Identify roles and the competency standards of persons required to deliver CDM.
Define and maintain appropriate training, information, and support arrangements for persons in roles expected to deliver CDM within AWE.
Monitoring/Evaluation of compliance
Support project level CDM compliance strategies.
Conduct active monitoring of CDM data to allow continual review of the AWE CDM arrangements.
Lead CDM Risk Based Inspection and Rick Based Checks in support of surveillance activities.
Skills, knowledge, and experience requirements for the role:
The ideal candidate will ideally have the following:
Solid experience and a thorough working knowledge of the CDM Regulations.
A recognised professional Health & Safety qualification such a NEBOSH Construction as a minimum but preferably higher such as NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ 4/5/6 or Degree in Health & Safety or ICE Health & Safety Registration.
Chartership (or working towards) through a relevant organisation such as IET, CIOB, ICE, RICS, IOSH, CABE, RIBA or similar.
Experience in the full project life cycle (design, construction and handover).
Excellent level of technical acumen and a confident and astute communicator.
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
