Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: Starting from £29,640 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.

AWE is currently recruiting for Quality Inspectors. We have a number of exciting opportunities across our Quality function, and we are looking for individuals who have an interest in pursuing a career within Quality or have a background within any of the following disciplines;

  • Production
  • Science
  • Engineering
  • Manufacturing

The purpose of the Quality Inspector role is to support Quality service delivery through appropriate methods of inspection and evaluation, in support of the specific Quality requirements.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have some of the following:

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and standards.
  • Ability to generate and improve upon inspection instructions, inspection reports and other specific role documentation.
  • Good inter-personnel skills.
  • Flexible with good oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support delivery of technical assessments using appropriate methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development and validation of Quality methodologies.
  • Participation in experimental trials improvement activities and audits, where appropriate.
  • Engagement with relevant AWE stakeholders and other functions to enhance inspection techniques.
  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Important things you need to know:

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
