IT Project Manager
Great British Nuclear (GBN) is a new government arm's length body supporting the delivery of Britain's energy security and net zero, making sure that we can power Britain from Britain sustainably. We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Project Manager to manage and implement IT projects. This role requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and project management methodologies to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to accountability, and a deep understanding of project management methodologies.
Day to day duties:
- Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while aligning with GBN's strategic objectives.
- Utilise established project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with GBN's operational standards and nuclear industry requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes and organisational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their needs, and ensure project alignment with GBN's goals.
- Identify potential challenges and risks during project execution. Develop and implement effective solutions to address issues proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and objectives.
- Monitor project performance against established KPIs and deliverables.
- Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate effective use of related IT tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
- Proven experience in managing IT projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications desirable or demonstrable experience.
