This is a senior and unique role that combines the skills of Team Leadership, Stakeholder Relations and Community Partnerships. The role has senior level interfaces with stakeholders, internally as well as with the DfT and our large pool of stakeholders. It is responsible for a significant budget with key contractual responsibilities, and manages a team of experienced professionals.
The Head of Public Affairs and Community Partnerships (PACP) role reports to the Director of Corporate Affairs. The purpose of this role is to develop the strategic delivery plan for the PACP team, to ensure it delivers against the Annual Business plan and company-wide strategy.
They will manage the PA&CP team, providing leadership and guidance to team members, managing their development and ensuring team members act in ways that align with GTR's purpose and values.
The post holder will ensure the team proactively manages positive relationships with external stakeholders to enable the delivery of GTR's Annual Business Plan, and enhance GTR's brand reputation as a business that cares about the communities it operates within, and listens to and acts on feedback.
They will manage the Community Partnerships and CSR functions of the team, ensuring Annual Business Plan commitments are met and that GTR is embedded in local communities and that positive work enhances its reputation. This involves administering an annual community fund, funding to Community Rail Partners, and ensuring GTR is adhering to its commitment to report on the social value of its undertakings on an annual basis.
The role provides advice, support and guidance to other members of the team, as required.
