As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
- Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
- Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Act as primary customer interface for Major Incidents, RCA's and service improvement projects.
- Responsible for the incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationship, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management and service evolution functions for the Infrastructure
- Develop and support routine operational activities with automation
- Lead root cause analysis meetings as part of process improvement
- Work closely with peer teams to deliver high availability and optimum performance for customers
- Do trend analysis, drift analysis and create dashboards using Splunk, Grafana and Evolven
- Take part in Infrastructure resiliency automation and executions
- Learning and facilitating new technologies
- Work closely with customers to drive the system stability programs
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
- Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- BS/BA Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration / engineering experience with strong troubleshooting skills
- Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices.
- Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies and have the operations skills to identify and mitigate difficult and complex technical problems
- Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms
- Knowledge on Veritas/RHEL cluster, Block and object storage, Networking
- Good knowledge in Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana
- Understanding of Virtualization technologies
- Experience with Capacity management, Resiliency and Business Continuity Planning and execution
- Experience with Infrastructure automation – python, Ansible
- Experience working on multiple service improvement programs and able to prioritize work loads
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and system security best practices
- Experience with multi-tiered application architecture
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and development tools such as JIRA, GIT & Bitbucket
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player, with strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer related experience
- Working experience in Financial Institutions
