As the Head of Research for our Integrated Engineer’s Portal (IEP) you will set the vision, drive the strategy, and craft the roadmap for all research associated to the IEP. You will create and manage our listening and contact strategies to focus on appropriate channels and methods to engage with our customers across 24 locations and 40,000 engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and facilitate the creation and oversight of an Experience Measurement Program to address a data driven holistic approach to maturing a user’s experience
  • Manage and cultivate the talent of our research team including hiring, training, and coaching and evaluating performance
  • Engage with the product triad, specifically product management and engineering, to ensure we have appropriate research studies deployed against our priorities and in support of our desired outcomes and business objectives
  • Collaborate and communicate with leaders at all levels of the organization, to outline the research vision and plan, review findings, outline if further research is needed to confirm conclusions, and showcase the broader research repository and registry to support ongoing decision making and direction setting
  • Influence and drive change to the JPMC product culture to be rooted in research and an understanding of a customer’s problems and associated needs and balancing that with a team’s experience and expertise
  • Partner with the Engineer's Platform & Integrated Experience (EPiX) leadership team to refine staffing strategy and address skill set and location needs to guarantee forecasted staffing levels meet delivery requirements and deadlines

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in research related field in human and computer related interaction Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • Extensive research leadership experience in a technology focused business, preferably with large scale enterprise and software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with competing opportunities, using evidence-based methods to drive strategy, actions, and results
  • Experience collecting, analysing, and summarizing data from disparate sources to drive conclusions and recommendations
  • Ability to dissect complicated technical problems, simplify experiences, and innovate with and on behalf of our customers
  • Experience owning end-to-end research delivery, including owning roadmap, strategy, definition, and making trade-offs

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Sensitive to customer needs and interested in working on services that will be used, directly and indirectly, by thousands of customers and that have a meaningful impact on their functions and interactions
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating, consensus-building, and problem-solving, in demanding environments with internal and external stakeholders
  • Constant learner
