As a Lead Information Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality information and functional architecture solutions for various software applications on modern cloud-based technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for carrying out critical information and functional architecture solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose information and functional architecture approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Defines the information and functional architecture target state of their product and drives achievement of the strategy
  • Participates in information architecture governance bodies
  • Executes creative functional architecture solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems
  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
  • Facilitates evaluation sessions with internal teams to drive outcomes through probing of information and functional architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
  • Leads information architecture communities of practice to drive awareness of robust information and functional architectures
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on architecture concepts and proficient advanced experience with delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilit
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and one or more object oriented programming languages
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more software, application, and architecture disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Hands on Information Architecture in enterprise-sized applications with a strong working knowledge of Data Modelling and Meta-modelling (preferably with UML) or the use of alternative Data Modelling tools such as ERwin, Power Designer and Magic Draw
  • Knowledge of various Data Architecture options including ODS, Data Lake, Data Catalogue (DCAT), Data Warehousing, OLTP and OLAP, the treatment of Data as a Technology Asset and the regulatory view of the same.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Management technologies such as Oracle, Cassandra and Public Cloud offerings in this space
  • Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modelling
  • Ability to collaborate with business teams to understand, translate, review and playback requirements into Functional and Information Architectures
