The Precious Metals Trading Desk provides bespoke derivatives to corporate and investor clients globally. We quote and risk manage OTC spot, forwards, swaps, and vanilla and exotic options, as well as futures and listed options, and we also engage in physical business in the gold, silver, platinum, and palladium markets.

The role requires the candidate to be strong analytically and quantitatively with a positive approach to hard work and collaboration, as well as the ability to operate independently.

As an Analyst or Associate in the team you will work closely with senior traders in pricing and managing risk across all instruments we trade (linear and options related) and collaborate with the Sales organization to generate trade ideas and with support functions across the business to maintain smooth operation

Job responsibilities

  • Gain and maintain a strong understanding of the Precious Metals business, related markets, and our client base
  • Work closely with senior traders in pricing and managing risk across all instruments we trade (linear and options related)
  • Execute and book trades as needed on behalf of the business
  • Work closely with the Sales organization to generate trade ideas and with support functions across the business to maintain smooth operation
  • Develop risk management skills for increasing independent competence

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Relevant trading experience
  • Comfort with or interest in options risk management
  • Quantitative background
  • High attention to detail
  • Fluency with Excel
  • Strong ability to think independently
  • Interest in markets and macro trends
  • Ability to work under pressure and operate at senior level if required

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Options trading experience
  • Programming experience

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
