You will spearhead the delivery of control management across four pillars; Risk Identification & Assessment, Control Design & Evaluation, Issues & Control Deficiencies, and Control Governance & Reporting. This role will require interaction, collaboration, and influence across CIB businesses to identify risks relative to the Business as well as perform ongoing oversight and governance of the Operational Risk and Control environment across the CIB.

As a Vice President with the Employee Compliance Controls (ECC) team, you will have a strong focus on risk and control, which is required to lead the delivery of end-to-end control frameworks within the Employee Compliance Controls function of the Central Controls Office. The Employee Compliance Controls team is responsible for developing cross-CIB frameworks and associated CORE controls for cross-border interactions, electronic communications, voice recording, consecutive leave, and supervision. These frameworks ensure that employee activities comply with corporate policy, local laws, rules, and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and monitor the risk and control framework
  • Lead strategic initiatives by providing risk and control design expertise and navigational assistance to help connect the dots across the line of business(es)
  • Ongoing monitoring and assessment of operational risk and control environment
  • Perform issue/action plan workflow end-to-end, including root cause analysis and working with your business and impacted stakeholders to develop them and to validate the remediation
  • Identify meaningful metrics to inform on the health of the operational risk and control environment
  • Identify, assess, advise, and drive strategic solutions to increase efficiency and create a more resilient operating environment
  • Collaborate with senior business clients and partners across functional areas (e.g., Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies
  • Review regulatory change, industry patterns, external events, incumbent policies & standards, etc. to proactively identify existing and emerging operational risks and issues.
  • Lead project delivery in response to firm wide, regulatory and industry changes, to uplift the current CIB framework and control environment.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Ability to work within a digital first environment, including comfortable with new technologies and frameworks, agile methodologies, reviewing data, analytics and technology architecture.
  • Experience in Financial Services, Operational Risk Management, Control Oversight and/or similar role
  • Exceptional critical thinking, project management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to directly address conflicts and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and technical (e.g., PowerPoint). Ability to present concise, direct and timely communications to executives, management and key partners; strong presentation skills is essential
  • Strong presentation skills including generating presentations, project scorecards, and executive communications
  • Knowledge of CIB (Markets, Investment Banking, Securities Services, Payments, and Research) and Commercial Bank products preferable.
  • Strong people manager with the ability to lead through change.
