Engineering Depot Supervisor
Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd– Crewe VMF
Salary - £49,885 p/a
An opportunity has arisen for a locomotive Engineering Depot Supervisor to join Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd at our Crewe Vehicle Maintenance Facility.
The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for ensuring their team of Mechanical & Electrical Fitters deliver the maintenance production plan safely and efficiently to meet and exceed customer requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a safe environment for all to work. Ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to and processes improved as we strive to be injury free
- Provide leadership to your team to create an engaged and motivated workforce
- Carry out IPEs and safety observations to develop team members
- Ensure safe, quality and reliable production whilst working to achieve fleet availability and reliability targets
- Continuously work in accordance with all G&W and Freightliner policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Commitment to safe working practices – the ability to be a safety leader
- Apprentice trained or time served
- Supervisory or man-management experience and the ability to make sound engineering decisions
- Experience of Traction and Rolling Stock
- Engineering qualification, preferably HNC standard in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Ability to seek continuous improvement
The successful applicant should be a safety conscious and motivated self-starter, a fully versatile team player with a willingness to work a 24/7 shift roster.
