Architecture Services is a department made up of three technical disciplines, Hybrid Platforms, NetCon & Cyber and Workspace.

This role would sit within the Hybrid Platforms principle which focuses on HCI, on-premise Datacentre, backup and cloud based Datacentre solutions across several different vendors and technologies.

The successful candidate will be key in developing, supporting, demonstrating initial sizing of Dell Datacentre environments to progress new business opportunities.

This will primarily be focused around supporting the presales' function, Softcat sales & specialist teams. You will be responsible for initial early sales cycle BoM (Bill of Materials) sizing and assisting with enablement whilst having an extensive knowledge of the Dell datacentre portfolio. As a Presales Professional you will operate as a Technical Design Authority (TDA) within a project; responsible for one technical branch of the project delivery or spanning the whole project, dependent on level and experience.

Knowledge of the Dell Datacentre portfolio is essential, inclusive of Dell Servers, Dell storage appliances (PowerStore, PowerFlex, PowerScale, PowerVault), Apex, VxRail and PowerSwitch networking.

As Pre Sales Professional - Dell, you'll be responsible for:

  • Understanding customer challenges and proposing appropriate products or services to solve a technical problem.
  • Being accountable for technical demonstrations, proof of concepts, webinars and proposals as related to new and disruptive technologies in your vendor.
  • Writing required documentation to support builds and designs.
  • Using appropriate tools for sizing, analysis, putting together BoMs and internally managing opportunities.
  • Working proactively with our Dell funded BDM and channel manager on sales floor campaigns.
  • Taking and passing requisite presales courses and exams.
