Partner with the best

As a Sales Apprentice, you'll learn how to build and grow your own client base, working with top-tier partners like Microsoft, HPE, Cisco, and Dell. You'll start by securing new business and eventually transition to managing key accounts, nurturing long-term client relationships, and selling a wide range of IT solutions.

You'll be part of our Sales Development Programme, designed to accelerate your growth and confidence in the role, leading you to become an established Account Manager. Alongside on-the-job learning, you'll undertake a structured Sales Apprenticeship over two years, gaining a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Sales.

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching potential customers to shape and build new business
  • Growing new business through effective communication methods including cold calling, customer meetings and email marketing
  • Working towards your KPI's through developing market understanding, building relationships and networking
  • Providing effective account management to support your customers technology strategy, implementation, and future requirements
  • Collaborating with your sales team, cross-functional teams, and external partners to help develop a rich customer experience

We'd love you to have

  • A passion for sales and a desire to learn and grow
  • A keen entrepreneurial spirit and the drive to build your own client base
  • A self-motivated, organised, and quick-learning attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning about new and emerging technologies
  • The ability to build solid relationships with internal teams and external clients

Entry Requirements for the Sales Apprenticeship Programme:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Grade O6/H7 or above in 5 Leaving Certificate subjects (including Maths F2/O6/H7 and English or Irish O6/H7)
  • Applicants without a Leaving Certificate must hold a full QQI Level 5 or higher qualification
  • International applicants must provide equivalent qualifications
  • Mature applicants (21 years or older) without a Level 5 qualification but with relevant experience may also be considered, subject to an interview and submission of supporting documentation

What you'll gain:

  • Structured mentorship – You'll be assigned a dedicated workplace mentor to guide you throughout the programme and ensure you stay on track.
  • Blended learning – A combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning through online classes and face-to-face workshops with the Education and Training Board.
  • A recognised qualification – On successful completion, you'll become a certified Sales Specialist with a QQI-validated NFQ Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Sales, opening doors for further career growth within Softcat or higher education opportunities.
