THE OPPORTUNITY – SENIOR EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICIST

Our business is evolving, and we’re shaping our own future. We’re grasping opportunity and are looking for an experienced geophysicist to help our exploration team mature our portfolio of exiting opportunities.

AND NOW FOR THE TECHNICAL BIT…

Once in role, you will be accountable for:

• Using modern seismic interpretation techniques for regional mapping, play generation and prospect definition to support licence applications and the identification of new drilling candidates
• Provision of geophysical input into new business opportunity evaluations
• Formulation and execution of agreed technical programmes for each asset
• Preparation of relevant parts of well programmes in partnership with other subsurface staff and drilling engineers
• Provision of geophysical input and requirements for probabilistic and deterministic volume estimation, prospect evaluation and geological risking

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

• A BSc in a geoscience-related subject or physics
• Previous experience in a similar role within a challenging and operating environment
• Extensive experience of using seismic interpretation software (Petrel preferred)
• Broad geological knowledge of the UKCS with previous experience of exploration within the UKCS offshore, particularly SNS and CNS
• Experience in the use, and/or application, of quantitative interpretation techniques e.g. AVO, inversion
• Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
