About the Role

Base Location: Aberdeen, Peterhead, Elgin or Shetland

Salary: £44,195 - £56,757 + car / car allowance + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

The main purpose of this role is to support the delivery of multiple wide-ranging capital investment projects within the North Caledonia Region on distribution networks up to and including 33kV. All projects are to be delivered safely on scope and within allocated timescales and budgets. Reporting to the Capital Delivery Manager, you will manage a portfolio of projects safely, on time and to budget. Your duties will include;

- The co-ordination and safe, efficient and successful delivery of a range of projects across a wide range of distribution assets including overhead lines, cables and substation plant and equipment.

- Organising and carrying out electrical outage management and setting people to work on the distribution network and associated equipment.

- As safety is SSEN's number one priority, you are expected to have high standards and promote a safe working environment and challenge any unsafe behaviour.

- Participation in and out of hours standby rota to provide cover for faults and storms.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A minimum HNC in electrical engineering or suitable equivalent engineering experience.

- A good sound understanding of distribution networks across all voltages from Low Voltage up to and including 33kV.

- Full distribution Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation or at the very least working strongly towards this.

- A good understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and a good working knowledge of the CDM regulations.

- You must be a great team member, adaptable, self-motivated and flexible enough to work away from base location occasionally and a full driver's licence is required.

This role would also be suitable for candidates who can bring some of the above experience that can be developed into the role.
