About the Role

Base Location: Lerwick Power Station

Salary: £39,415 - £50,611 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Shift Work

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join the maintenance team within Lerwick Power Station. The main function of this role will be to coordinate the electrical maintenance on a day-to-day basis, working alongside the stations maintenance and operations teams to run the station in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

In this role your duties will include:

Installation, maintenance, overhaul, fault finding and undertaking repairs on a diverse range of modern power generation equipment and auxiliaries to ensure safe and reliable plant and equipment operations. Your responsibilities will extend to the maintenance of advanced technical plant and equipment within the Power Station and for providing legislative, environmental and safety compliance.

What do I Need?

- Ideally qualified to a minimum of ONC / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or similarly relevant/equivalent qualifications).

- Previous technical experience of power generation equipment, HV and LV rotating plant, transformers, switchgear, motor control gear and ancillary equipment is desirable.

- You must have excellent communication, analytical and technical skills as you will liaise directly with clients, management, apprentices, contractors and other technicians on a daily basis ensuring all site work is undertaken to the company's requirements and safety instructions.
