About the Role

Base Location: Berkshire / Wiltshire / Hampshire / Thames Valley

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 (dependent upon experience) + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

What is the Role?

SSEN Distribution has an extensive capital development programme as we work to deliver a net zero electricity system.

This newly created role is required to support the growth of our business and is an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager – Cost Control and Analysis to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our Large Capital Delivery Directorate in our Distribution business.

You will be responsible for providing commercial analysis activities for a major portfolio of projects across the Distribution business providing data driven insights and analysis to support commercial reporting.

To successfully operate within a regulated business environment, we are required to monitor, control and report on all costs required on the Projects – this includes areas such as Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting and Accrual Generation.

Working within the Procurement and Commercial team, as the Contract Manager – Cost Control and Analysis, you will take a lead role in the coordination and fulfilment of all Cost Control activities required from the Procurement and Commercial team.

You will support the Procurement & Commercial Manager and Head of Procurement & Commercial in providing a world class procurement and commercial service to internal customers.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would like you to have:

- Degree in appropriate business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.

- Demonstrable experience and competency with all aspects of Cost Control including Cost Forecasting, Budgeting, Change Control, Cost Reporting, Variance Analysis and Accrual Generation. With high levels of data analysis capability.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with an ability to liaise with and challenge all levels of the business.

- A strong drive for continuous improvement and innovative thinking to challenge the norms and support the development of cost management processes and techniques within the business.

- Collaborative approach, able to develop strong working relationships with internal and external parties.
