About the Role:

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen or Inverness.

Salary: £63,000 - £94,400 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSEN Transmission’s portfolio of projects is currently a £20bn+ investment programme, and to support this delivery, the Head of Customer and Stakeholder Projects has ownership and responsibility for the strategic planning and preparation of the Customer and Stakeholder Directorate and as appropriate the wider business readiness in relation to industry changes and stakeholder expectations. This includes identifying and implementing change and improvement projects across the Customer and Stakeholder Directorate as well as ensuring that Customer and Stakeholder focused digital projects deliver on the needs of stakeholders including employees.

As part of the Extended Leadership Team, reporting to the Director of Customer and Stakeholder, the Head of Customer and Stakeholder Projects is responsible for people resourcing allocation, and budgeting in conjunction with HR and Finance; drafting performance reports for the Transmission Executive Committee and special projects at the request of the director.

This is a fixed term contract of 15 months.

The responsibilities of the Head of Customer and Stakeholder Projects include:

- To support in the development of engagement strategy with specific customer focus, setting targets and driving engagement performance across SSEN Transmission to ensure its future success.

- Accountable for effective project planning across the Customer and Stakeholder Directorate ensuring robust programmes are in place to support successful delivery of projects, on time, to meet changing regulatory compliance requirements and growing business demands.

- Responsible for managing the directorate budget position and consolidated resource Forward Load on a monthly basis, highlighting resource gaps, issues and drawing recommendations for senior stakeholders and leaders across the business and ensure that all projects have optimal resource levels.

- Accountable for change and continuous improvement planning and implementation across the directorate, and fulfilment of regulatory commitments on stakeholder engagement.

- Lead on the development of a professional Customer and Stakeholder Risk Management discipline and capability across the Directorate, including selection and adoption of best practice industry tools and best practice processes across all in-scope projects working with the risk and compliance team.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Ability to influence and challenge status quo, with strong stakeholder engagement and relationship skills to ensure you can work with senior business directors and large multi-disciplinary teams.

- Proven ability and experience of developing and implementing Stakeholder/ Customer engagement project plans in a complex delivery focused environment, preferably combined with knowledge of the UK energy industry and landscape.

- Extensive experience in creating, implementing, and managing programmes or multiple projects, ideally within a large energy or linear infrastructure setting, though specific industry experience is not required.

- Experience in providing recommendations in relation to budget and resourcing in conjunction with HR and Finance.

- Deep expertise in one or more core project management disciplines including, but not limited to, change and transformation, planning and estimation, solution delivery methodologies, governance, project controls, financial management, commercial management, risk management, quality management.
