About the role:
As a key member of this driven and dynamic team, the Communications Advisor will play a vital role in shaping internal communications that drive employee engagement, enhance leadership visibility, and strengthen organisational culture.
This role requires a passionate storyteller, and versatile communicator, skilled in internal relationship building, copywriting, strategy-supporting content creation, and showcasing the organisation’s people and projects. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Communications Advisor will deliver timely, integrated, and impactful communications that align with business strategy and keep employees informed and connected.
A key focus will be leading the employee intranet, creating content to support internal information-sharing and leadership messaging. Leveraging data and insights, the Advisor develops and implements targeted communication campaigns that reinforce organisational values, position Unitywater as an employer of choice, and support key initiatives.
With a strong emphasis on clarity, effectiveness, and minimising reputational risk, the Communications Advisor will define objectives, create action plans, and measure success to continuously enhance internal communications.

Essential Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong research, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, or public relations or equivalent experience.
- At least three years’ experience in a communications role.
- Passion for internal communication.
- Strong knowledge of communication strategies, trends, and best practices.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate communication strategies aligned with business goals.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships in complex, multi-functional environments.
- Experience working with digital platforms, content creation, CMS, SharePoint, and multimedia production.
- Ability to understand business objectives and audience needs to deliver impactful communication.
- Adaptability and composure in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
