We’re looking to hire an Insurance Data Analyst to join the UWI team. We’re not looking for lots of experience but you will have learnt the basics of data analysis, modelling & pricing in a previous role and be looking to hone your skills in a high-growth insurance business..

Here’s some of the key skills and attributes we’re looking for:

  • You will have some experience of working in an analytical role, ideally within the insurance industry;
  • Whether through formal education or hands-on experience, you’ve developed a solid understanding of data analysis and are looking to grow your skills;
  • A logical thinker with a numerate or analytical background (e.g. experience or education in areas such as Maths, Data Science, Economics, or related fields);
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or big data tools is a plus but not required;
  • Portfolio/risk modelling interests you and you want to develop this skill set further;
  • Inquisitive with a passion for data and analysis
  • Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of the drivers fo a P&L
  • Can work under guidance but enjoy autonomy
  • Love working in an ever-evolving environment where you can make a tangible impact without the barriers of high levels of bureaucracy
  • Have a talent for making complex concepts easy for others to understand
  • Are an empathetic team player who values diverse perspectives and contributions in collaborative environments
  • Embrace iteration, high-paced delivery, and are comfortable with change

You’ll be joining a small, growing team of Finance and Insurance experts. This role reports to the Head of Finance and will work closely with CEO and Head of Compliance for UWI as well as the wider Insurance team at Utility Warehouse.

As an Insurance Data Analyst you will be a key player in delivering a substantial and growing insurance portfolio by providing detailed insights and analysis. You will use your commercial and modelling expertise to help optimise our margin capture across the insurance portfolio and support the team in highlighting commercial risks via sensitivity and scenario analysis.

Here’s what you’ll do on a day to day basis in this role:

  • Data gathering, analysis and modelling for Pricing, Consumer Duty and Product performance assessments;
  • Sensitivity & scenario analysis for forecasting and risk management purposes;
  • Develop pricing & margin optimisation, building and enhancing models and pricing methodologies;
  • Competitor information gathering & analysis;
  • Providing insight, analysis and trends on the customer portfolio to senior management for decision making;
  • Develop and implement rate changes using tools such as Willis Towers Watson EMBLEM and Radar;
  • Work closely with colleagues and other areas of the business to support overall business needs.
