We are looking for a collaborative and team-oriented Trait Introgression Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team. The incumbent would be responsible for traits upload and enrichment across the Nufarm Canola Breeding Programs.

How You’ll Help Us Grow

• Lead a team of 2 Research Technicians (Glasshouse) to conduct trait introgression projects for Key Canola traits using molecular markers and/or phenotypic assays.
• Design and coordinate glasshouse experiments to deliver Canola and Omega 3 germplasm for hybrid parent development.
• Collaborate with Breeders and Double Haploid Lab to accelerate priority genetic improvement.
• Collaborate with technology teams to apply and develop new trait markers.
• Support the R&D leadership and Science teams to improve and develop new science innovation and efficiencies for Canola advancement.
• Ensure successful and timely delivery of key project milestones, utilizing available resources effectively.

Could This Be You?

• Holds a degree (ideally post graduate master or PhD) in biological science, plant breeding or plant genetics.
• Possesses prior research experience in plant breeding and genetic improvement.
• Project management experience which includes leading or coordinating teams.
• Excels in communication, relationship-building, and has a customer-centric approach.
• Is detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.
