Summary:

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will be Head of a team of 2-3 people responsible for managing Fixed Assets and Leases reporting under IFRS and US GAAP. This will include taking ownership of significant accounting estimates and judgements relating to Leasing and Fixed assets and preparing accounting memos. You will play a key role in supporting the business for forecasts, budgets and analysis relating to assets and leases You will oversee the transition of the Group to a new leasing system. In addition, to this the role holder will be responsible for the preparation and review of allocated balance sheet reconciliations and for compliance with all relevant SOx narratives as well as supporting other stakeholders in decision making process.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of lease records within Lease Accelerator, the Company’s global leasing system,
  • Assisting with the transition to the new leasing system including making process improvements,
  • Ensuring month-end reviews and close process for fixed assets and leasing is completed on a timely basis,
  • Prepare and review fixed assets and leases deliverables to the Parent entity on a monthly and quarterly basis,
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors,
  • Technical review of accounting for new and modified lease contracts and capitalisation of costs under applicable accounting standards and taking the auditors through key judgements
  • Support Finance Business Partners and Finance Directors with providing accurate and timely reports and ad-hoc analysis to aid decision making process,
  • Support Statutory Accounts preparation for multiple Legal Entities,
  • Support the regional tax team in the preparation of the lease tax calculations,
  • Support leasing activities for all European regions (Poland and Netherlands),
  • Identify and suggest process improvements that generate efficiencies or strengthen the Group’s lease and fixed asset control environment,
  • Managing small team of 2-3 junior staff, supporting their professional development of junior staff,
  • Prepare/review key month end reconciliations to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting balances (balance sheet and profit and loss) in the general ledger,
  • Manage and participate in multiple projects (Project Accounting, IFRS FAR, new ERP implementation).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience),
  • Possess strong technical accounting knowledge and good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS particularly for fixed assets and leases (with emphasis on IFRS),
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, prioritising tasks and workload and managing conflicting demands of the business units and senior management team,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff across the UK/Europe region, as well as key stakeholders,
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal,
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan own work, work autonomously and on own initiative and meet deadlines,
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy of work,
  • IT literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
