Here’s your chance to have a say on how working parents and carers are supported in the workplace and our communities.

A national survey has been launched to collect stories from working parents across the nation on how they balance work and caring responsibilities. The survey covers a wide range of important issues directly relevant to working families including parental leave support, flexible work needs, child care and overall challenges experienced when managing their job and caring demands. The results will formulate a greater understanding of the challenges working parents face and the policies needed to better address ways of combining work with care responsibilities.

“At WORK180, we help identify employers who have great policies and structures in place, and so it was natural for us to support this survey. If you’re a parent or carer it is likely you’ve experienced that dreaded struggle of finding a balance between work and home life. The findings in the survey will help us gain a greater understanding of the challenges working parents face and the policies needed to better address ways of combining work with care responsibilities” says WORK180 CEO and Co-founder Gemma Lloyd.

The survey was launched by education providers, Parents At Work and Karitane along with researchers from two Australian universities. It’s also supported by a number of Australian employers including Endorsed Employers HSBC and KPMG. It’s spear headed by the not-for-profit APLEN network (Advancing Parental Leave Equity), a group of organisations established to advance Australia’s ‘shared’ parental leave policies in workplaces by engaging the business community to normalise parental leave being taken by both men and women.

The survey closes August 1st 2019 and your input is highly valued. Help us together create family friendly workplaces and share your thoughts in the Working Family Survey.
