ICYMI: The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) released their updated list of organizations granted Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation!

The list features 115 employers who have all been recognized for their active commitment to achieving gender equality within the Australian workforce—and we’re delighted to see more than a few names on there from our Endorsed Employers!

The WGEA citation is valid for two years, after which organizations can reapply. They receive a review of their efforts and policies, which helps the WGEA determine whether they can be granted the citation again.

Congrats to all our WORK180 Endorsed Employers who received citation!

Of the 115 employers who received citations, 8 were first-time applicants, 81 were renewing organizations, and 26 are in their interim year.

What the citation means for you

For anyone thinking about where their career will be in safe hands, the EOCGE citation means several things:

1. Commitment to Gender Equality: The employer has demonstrated a strong commitment to gender equality, including equitable hiring practices, opportunities for career advancement, and pay equality.

2. Supportive Work Environment: Organizations with the EOCGE citation are likely to offer policies and practices that support work-life balance, such as flexible working arrangements, parental leave, and initiatives to prevent discrimination and harassment.

3. Diversity and Inclusion: The citation indicates that the employer values diversity and inclusion and fosters a workplace culture that respects and supports all employees, regardless of gender.

4. Career Advancement Opportunities: Jobseekers can expect that these employers have systems to support career development and advancement, particularly for women and underrepresented groups.

5. Positive Employer Reputation: Being recognized as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality can enhance an organization’s reputation as a desirable workplace, attracting talent who prioritize diversity and inclusivity in their workplace choices.

Consider the citation as a great big stamp of approval for gender equality!

When you see an organization with the EOCGE citation AND the WORK180 Endorsed Employer badge, you definitely know you’re onto a great thing.
